Week 7 - Scene Setup, Performance, and Visual Narrative

Fig. 1 - Context dialogue

This week during the lesson we learnt about dialogue and subtext and more. For instance; context is the situation where conflict can arise in many forms, the subtext is an unspoken message where the physical communication is more relied upon than the majority of communication. Thus a dialogue is used to focus on the character's goal.

After learning from a presentation, we used our skills to work as a group and come up with a scenario that best described the sound of the scene that we heard. In figure 1, from what we learned from the sound everyone all came up with different scenarios, however, we all decided to go with one best suited for the sound.

In conclusion, we learned about dialogue and how we can make them less monotonous and more entertaining. How words can be used to help define a character's action, and create a whole scenario. Although going through the clips or scenes in the class made me understand how a character's comprehension can help enhance a scene, which I hope I will use for my final project.
