Personal Studies - Animating with Reference
Fig.1 - Using Reference |
I used the Yu-Lon animation (proven in figure 3) as a reference. Since this was animated I decided to look from a human's aspect for a reliable motion. Getting all the references I needed, I paused the video at their Key Poses and worked from animation poses to human poses. The posing process was long as it took all day. This is because there was so much action in such a short amount of time, which was the perfect challenge for me. When going through the process I was struggling with the rotations as the body would not move as I envisioned. I also learned about timing and speed with keyframes and how that could affect a movement. At the end of the day I was able to problem-solve my issues and move the keyframes far apart for the motion I envisioned.
In conclusion, this was a success as I started to learn from my own mistakes and corrected them by following some tutorials on Canvas. What I would be doing next is putting the keyframes in its correct timing and focus on anticipation, slow in and outs.
